French Quarter Festival is a three day fest of free concerts with over 140 live performances by local musicians at fifteen stages. Here one finds a life full of fun and frolic. There are numerous outdoor concerts, patio tours, parade, jazz bands, bartender competition, art shows, children's activities, talent competitions and more. It serves as a feast for your senses.

Encompassing the stages are booths with food from New Orleans best restaurants. It presents music, representing every genre from traditional and contemporary jazz to rhythm and blues.

FQFI has added some lively new features and shook up a few of the old traditions just for fun. The Louisiana State Museum's Old U.S. Mint location where the Zatarain's Louisiana Culture and Heritage Area cooks up a tasty aural concoction with its stage featuring Cajun and zydeco music now has an additional major platform. The Latin Heritage Stage will showcase Hispanic cultural additions to the Louisiana sound gumbo – Islenos, (Canary Islanders) salsa, Flamenco, and Cuban rhythms will fire the spirit from the back of the Quarter.
